Atlanta hospitals and facilities we visit

We know the check-in procedure, parking and visitor rules at the region's major hospitals, so the signing happens quickly once we arrive. If your facility isn't listed, call — we almost certainly cover it.

Documents we notarize at the bedside

  • Durable and medical power of attorney
  • Georgia advance directive for health care
  • Guardianship and conservatorship petitions
  • Living wills and end-of-life directives
  • Affidavits, consents and release forms
  • Insurance, pension and beneficiary paperwork
  • Real estate and financial documents for admitted patients
  • Hospice and nursing-home signings

Before we arrive, please have ready

  • • The complete document, unsigned — the signature must be witnessed
  • • The patient's room number and unit, plus any visitor restrictions
  • • One or two qualifying witnesses, depending on the hospital document

Need us to provide witnesses?

We can arrange one or two eligible witnesses for a hospital signing at $50 per witness. Request them when booking so everyone can arrive together.

Hospital notary questions

+Can a notary come to a hospital room in Atlanta?

Yes. We perform bedside notarizations at every major Atlanta-area hospital, 24 hours a day. Call (470) 508-5640 with the hospital name, unit or room number, and the document type, and we confirm arrival time on the call. Typical arrival inside I-285 is 45–60 minutes.

+What if the patient is weak, sedated or cannot sign?

Georgia law requires the signer to be aware of what they are signing and to sign willingly. A patient who is alert but physically unable to write may direct a signature by proxy in the notary's presence. If the patient is sedated, confused, or unresponsive, the notarization cannot legally proceed — we will tell you honestly on the phone before you pay for a visit.

+What ID does a hospital patient need?

A valid unexpired government photo ID: driver's license, state ID, passport, or military ID. Hospital wristbands and medical records are not acceptable identification. If no ID is available, Georgia allows identification by a credible witness who personally knows the signer and has their own ID — ask us how that works.

+Do you provide witnesses for hospital signings?

Yes. Hospital documents typically require one or two witnesses, depending on the document. If you cannot provide eligible witnesses, we can arrange them for $50 per witness. Let us know how many you need when booking. The notary cannot serve as a witness on the same document.

+How much does a hospital notary visit cost?

Visits start at $50 inside I-285 plus $10 per notarized signature (Georgia's statutory maximum). A $25 after-hours surcharge applies between 9 PM and 6 AM and on Sundays and federal holidays. Extended check-in or waiting time is quoted upfront, never added afterward.

+Can you notarize in the ICU, emergency department or hospice?

Yes. We regularly sign in ICU, ER, oncology, hospice and long-term care units, and we follow each facility's visitor and infection-control rules. Let us know the unit when you call so we allow for check-in time at the desk.
